He even said the quality of the letter is superb. Mind you this is a man that only buys name brand stuff and likes the finner things in life so that speaks volumesI loved this bag. I really loved it. And it would have easily received a 5-star rating if I had reviewed this product a month ago. Unfortunately, both love and Bostanten weekender bags are fragile things.The first sign of trouble in paradise was the cracking, flaking bag handles. These handles were clearly not designed to withstand the rigor of daily use. To be clear, by "rigor of daily use" I simply mean that I take the bag to and from the gym with me each morning. I'm not talking about trekking through the Himalayas with a pack full of mule feed and mountaineering equipment. I’m not even talking about more common rigors, for example, frequent airline travel in which luggage is exposed to cramped overhead compartments, baggage carousels, and careless bag handlers that toss, squeeze, stuff, and cram bags as if they all contained bubble rap and were made out of Kevlar. I would't complain if the bag or its handles couldn't endure such extreme use. But, that's not what I'm referring to. Instead, the type of rigor I'm talking about is simply my daily trip to and from the gym, which typically entails nothing more packing my socks, underwear, and shampoo into the bag, placing it gently in the back seat of my car, and then repacking post-workout and similarly transporting the bag back to my house. Seems a reasonabley foreseeable use of an item described as a “Genuine Leather Travel Weekender Overnight Duffel Bag Gym Sports Bag,” no?As much as I loved the bag--its size, shape, functionality, overall look and appearance--the handles quickly became worn and the "leather" started to flake off. Once the flaking started, the floodgates were blown wide open. I now find little pieces of the handle coating all over the place. They're in my car, my office, my gym locker, and, once, I even caught my daughter chewing on one of the small leather(ish) flakes, which she apparently found on the kitchen floor and identified as an edible item. In addition, the bag handles are attached to the bag shell by a small piece of material, which I've noticed has recently started to separate at the stitching. At this rate, I anticipate that the handles will completely detach with the next few weeks, at which point I’ll be relegated to either (1) carrying the bag like a football or (2) bear hugging it against my chest similar to the way one carries a coiled sleeping bag from the car to the tent on a camping trip. Please feel free to reply with additional suggestions.In sum, this review would have taken a completely different tone if I had only written it a month ago, before the flaking and handle-separation issues surfaced. It's a real beauty of a bag. A fine specimen, indeed. At least at first blush. If you only plan to use the bag on a very limited basis, like maybe every other weekend to transport feathers and/or cotton balls but not both or anything heavier, you might be able to avoid the issues and resulting anguish that I experienced. So leather was perfectWe went in together to get this for him (leather is pricey) and he loves it!Nice bag of good quality, at a good price, but, the strap is a problem, in that the shoulder pad is on the wrong side of the adjustment buckle. This means that the shoulder pad cannot be moved to be at the top of the strap so it sits on one`s shoulder.Emailed them about this, but no reply. I will get a local shop to cut and re sew, but understand this defect if you buy.I purchased this product as a gift but was embarrassed to hear that the recipient has had multiple problems with the bag. The piping has worn through within months despite only light use (not used for airline travel, just as a gym bag), exposing sharp ends that have damaged clothing and broken skin. Diese Oberfläche ist anfällig für Kratzer und fühlt sich entsprechend minderwertig an.Tatsächlich darf sich eine solche Konstruktion sogar "echtes Leder" schimpfen lassen, doch ich würde jedem, der nach einer Ledertasche sucht, von diesem Modell abraten.Der Verkäufer wirbt mit "Echtes hochwertiges Leder in bester Qualität" was offenkundig eine dreiste Irreführung ist. Da der Sitz des Verkäufers in China liegt, ist es nicht einmal möglich den Händler dafür zu belangen.Ich benutze die Tasche nun seit 4 Monaten 2-3 Mal wöchentlich was dazu geführt hat, dass sich Versiegelung der Griffe löst (siehe Foto). Dies spürt man jedes Mal, wenn man nach der Tasche greift.Alles in einem bin ich nicht zufrieden und würde den Weekender nicht nochmal kaufen und rate allen, die nach einer Ledertasche suchen, vom Kauf ab.This was a birthday present for my son.He was delighted with my choice.Lovely looking hold all and great value for money.
